Fels-Naptha

Miracles happen once in a while!! So, yesterday I had a bit of an itch on my leg so I scratched it. Not with my finger nails, because if you knew me well you would know that I don't have much in that department. Although, I would like to say that it is getting better! Anyway, I was holding a pen and we were between work and going to an appointment to workout our house. I few minutes later I looked down, severely shocked that I was COVERED in pen! Myles was convinced my pants were ruined... They look like they would be, don't they?
Never fear! My mommy taught me how to beat those stains out! Fels-Naptha is an amazing product! I rinsed my shorts and started to rub the bar of soap all over on the pen but it appeared that nothing changed. I did this 2 more times and then put them in the wash by them on cold. After it was done, I did the same thing, rubbing the soap into the pen that was left and I washed them by themselves on Hot!
Yes, it is a lot of work, but you can save clothes like no other with this! I have seen my auntie Jo turn my completely gross looking panther sweatshirt into something that looked almost new! Pit stains and smells come out with this, Mom used to have us make our own laundry soap with it and we had a 5 Gl bucket of soap for what, $4? It is super cool and very much worth the work it took to get the pen out!

I get to keep my pants! :D Thanks for teaching me cool tricks, mom!

It's my PARTY!! And I choose how it ends!

Just a quick update on us! We are staying very busy and I am just counting the days until I can see my family and the rain, and have a reason to wear my fall clothes, etc. Then after that, only EIGHTEEN DAYS UNTIL I AM MRS MAXEY!!!
THIS is some serious reading!
Tomorrow is my Birthday. We aren't planning on doing a whole lot. Work, lunch with a friend, dinner with Myles. My Momma sent me an awesome book full of information about Essential Oils! I have so much fun reading to do! THANK YOU MOM!! When I saw the price of the book it just made me all the more grateful that my Mom loves me enough that I don't have to buy it for myself! Myles and I are working on Budgeting so that we can use this holistic style of healing much more in our home! I am already hooked on it thanks to Mom, but I am also slowly convincing Myles that they are amazing. He thinks they're nasty, but he knows they work so ;) Progress!!!

Some of the biggest news is that we (aka my amazing mom) have mailed out invites and I have had a couple of reports of people getting them already! I'm totally in love with them! They turned out great!
If you need one, let us know! We have plenty!
Our general daily lives consist of Scripture study together and on my own, work, occasional football games, class for Myles, internship for Myles, laundry more often then I care to admit, homework, and usual household things. I am really enjoying this chapter in my life and can't wait for the next month and 3 days to go by.
Some amazing Nature that we don't get in Oregon. Gorgeous, eh?
Due to inspirations from watching General conference, and personal study I have decided to work toward bettering myself by working on one Christ-like attribute each week. Right now I'm working on Selflessness. I am working on being slow to anger, being ready and willing to reach out and help someone else, to be peaceful and calm in frustrating situations, and really striving to feel the love that Christ has for each of us. It has only been two days since I really implemented into my life, but I am really feeling a difference in myself. I have been asking Myles consistently to keep me on track and I am so far loving the outcome! I am so overjoyed with the feelings of love that have come into my heart!
Jesus Christ is the most amazing being. He changes lives everyday! His Atonement is real and he allows me to become better. He loves me, as he does each and everyone of us. I am forever thankful for he gift he has given, that can only be repaid in my efforts to follow him. Jesus Christ is My Savior and Redeemer!!

Thanks for checking in! May the Lord touch your life today! And may we all be humble enough to see those blessings in all their glory!

I can't think of a title...

I've been trying to come up with something to write about... Our weeks are starting to turn into the same things over and over again. Well okay, they are mostly there already! We work a ton, Myles goes to his internship at the boys home, I do laundry and find random things to clean so that I stay busy, we have institute a couple of days a week. I'm totally loving our class. I work some more, I watch Myles ref football games when I have the energy to sit out in the sun all day.

My attitude about Las Cruces has improved leaps and bounds over the last two or so weeks! I was having a really hard time with the weather, my lack of friends, my move, etc. The effects and realization of change were in full force and I was a bit bitter about all of it. I think I mentioned in my last blog that I had a neat experience in institute, but it really hits me every day how it is my choice to find this desert beautiful. We do not get blue skies like these in Oregon. Gorgeous! I still LOVE the rain though.

Today Myles and I were working in Deming, about 45 minutes from Cruces. I was walking the lot, taking inventory and I saw the COOLEST thing! I mean, I really thought this was cool. I made Myles come all the way across the lot to see it. He didn't think it was nearly as awesome as I did, however, that did not change my opinion of it. THIS is what I saw. A leaf bug!! I don't think I've seen one before, but it is so amazing to me! Look!! God's creations are truly amazing.

As far as other adventures I've been having, I got lost today. I kind of new where I was, but I was in no way prepared to get to where I was trying to get! I was headed for Sam's Club to buy the cheapest gas in town, and then to the post office. Myles tried to explain to me how to get there before I dropped him off. It was n't far, and yet, I managed to find myself headed out of town on HWY 70. I finally turned myself around, got oriented, and made it to Sam's. I jumped out of the car and went to fill up, only to discover that Sam's only accepts Sam's cards as payment at their gas station. Myles had forgotten to give it to me... I didn't even know I needed one! I was so frustrated after being lost, that this was just something more to add. I headed for the post office, gas tank still empty. At the post office there was a huge line and I didn't want to wait. Plus I thought that if I bought a flat rate box there, they were going to make me pay for an entire roll of tape in order to assemble it. I panicked when I didn't know which direction (East or West) I needed to go on the freeway to get home. I knew which way, just not which exit to take. I took a chance and kept going until I saw an exit I knew... Kinda? I was mostly guessing, but I finally saw a sign that said El Paso and I knew that was the direction I needed. I went to one of the many high schools to wait for the kid we pick up on Wednesdays. He made me wait a long time... We made our usual Sonic happy hour run and then I made him go to another post office with me. We had a great bonding experience standing in line there. After dropping him off I went home and tried ever so hard not to crash! Holy cow I'm exhausted! Myles and I are getting up just a little earlier in the mornings so that we can read scriptures before he goes to seminary. Oh goodness, It has been super hard. Totally worth it though!

With my exhaustion, I think I'm sick. I haven't really decided. I'm nauseated a lot of the time. My head kills me. My stomach will cramp randomly. And today my throat started to hurt. I have almost chucked several times at work. That would be fun... New cars, used cars, throw up... Yeah... I have only taken a decongestant once, yesterday when I thought maybe I was getting a migraine because of sinus congestion, causing me to have vertigo and nausea. I honestly don't remember if it worked... lol I have been downing peppermint tea and Thieves oil like crazy. I'm hoping it will pass soon. Myles was pressured by his Doctor to get a flu shot. It flared up and he wasn't feeling well on Saturday. He actually threw up though... My thought is that mine is related to that, I can only hope at least.

Over all, things are great! The count down to my birthday is in full swing! I'm more excited this year than I have been in years past. And I don't even know why! Also, I'm coming home in less than a month!! WHOO FOR HUGGING MY MOMMY!
